Wild Life Hair Opens Second Salon in SoGo

Wild Life now has both sides of the river covered. Leading Sydney hairdresser, Jayne Wild, of Wild Life Hair, and long time colleague, Ali Holmes, have opened their Surry Hills salon in cool new Sydney location SoGo (south of Golbourn Street, Surry Hills). SoGo is quickly becoming Sydney’s new creative hub with independent cafés, art and furniture and stores popping up in the area.

Jayne and Ali's working relationship has seen them travel the world working in Prague, London and most recently New York where they styled hair for Toni Maticevski's last two New York Fashion Week Shows. Back home they have seen Wild Life collect a bag full of awards including Australian Hairdresser of the Year and Salon Team of the Year, building close partnerships with designers such as Marnie Skillings and Mad Cortes.

Now almost 14 years to the day after their first meeting, Jayne and Ali’s long working relationship has entered a new phase with the opening of Wild Life’s new SoGo salon. With stunning interior design by Michelle Latham of Pike Withers, its commanding and unique weathered steel floor underpins the space, creating a modern and elegant base for this stunning salon.

Their new salon is the culmination of a long working relationship that began when Jayne sent letters to 75 schools across Sydney to find an apprentice. She received just one response, from the then 14-year-old Ali. Ali worked at Jayne’s Milsons Point salon part time after school and on weekends for the next three years before starting at Wild Life full time. Ali went on to win Australian Apprentice of the Year three times and then, after nine years in Sydney, spent three years putting the finishing touches on her skills London. While in the UK Ali was an integral part of the GHD Directive Team educating across the country, styling hair for their print and TV campaigns, and working on teams for London and New York Fashion Week.

Wild Life SoGo is located at Shop 2, 50 Reservoir Street , Surry Hills.

The ever-popular eSalon gets a total new look but manages to retain its relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere which as always is down to the management and staff's great attitude.

The salon has a modern French feel of clean sleek lines and seamless service. Incorporating specialist colour bar and a very relaxed shampooing and massage area, the experienced team of Samuel, Emiliano, Valerio, Dawn, Lisa, Bridget and Emily bring their exceptional hairdressing skills into and environment that reflects their professinalism.
